The BitFarm's studio space is acoustically tuned for the reproduction of music. The heart of our studio, the speaker system, is a 5.1 surround sound system with Miller & Kreisel 2510P speakers. We also have some cheese-ball reference speakers to listen to as well! :-)
Mixing is the summing or combining of multiple channels of audio, each at different and varying levels of energy, into a format others can listen to. Typically this results in a 'stereo mix' or 2-channel format for CD or internet distribution, but it may also entail multi-channel formatting for use in surround sound delivery.
There are numerous variables in the delivery of your final mixes of audio as well, including:
– Sampling Rate or Frequency
– Bit Depth
– Sound file format
– Delivery format
– Dithering of final mixes
And that's where our science meets your music! We are experts in working with all digital soundfile types.

During the mixing process, each of the channels you record are listened to and analyzed, then appropriate signal processing is added to maximize the tone of the individual tracks. This signal processing may include equalization of tone, time-alignment, compression, reverb, and delay to name a few.
At The BitFarm, we use a combination of digital 'plug-ins' as well as outboard analog processing to achieve our tonal quality and to provide you mixes with depth, separation and character.
Because we are a beta testing facility for digital audio manufacturers, we frequently have sound toys to use on your project that may not even be released to the public yet.
